San Gimignano is getting ready to welcome journalists from all over Italy and abroad for the Press Days of Regina Ribelle – Vernaccia di San Gimignano Wine Fest: two busy days packed with content, designed to offer an insider’s view of one of the most iconic white wines on the Tuscan wine scene.
Starting on Thursday 28 May at the R. De Grada Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the main venue of the event, there will be a presentation of the new vintages of Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG and Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG Riserva. From 9.30 am to 4.00 pm, tastings with a sommelier service will offer participants time and space to gain a deeper understanding, taste the wines and discuss them. In the afternoon, a seminar hosted by Filippo Bartolotta, a leading figure in food and wine journalism, will take place in the Sala di Dante (Dante Hall), providing an opportunity to reflect on and discuss Vernaccia di San Gimignano and its role on the contemporary wine scene. The evening will culminate with a dinner catered by Pescatori di Orbetello at Lunaria Tuscany.
The second day of the event, Friday 29 May, will be dedicated to press tours, taking journalists directly to the cellars of the producers taking part in the Wine Fest. A unique opportunity to get a first-hand insight into the everyday work of those who make this appellation great. The evening will begin with the opening of Stefano Bombardieri’s solo exhibition, followed by a Gala Dinner in Piazza del Duomo catered by Chef Nicola Gronchi of the Michelin-starred restaurant Da Romano, paired with Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG and accompanied by the presentation of a piece of art created specifically for the appellation.
Two days of work, discussions and discovery to really get to know Vernaccia di San Gimignano, from the vineyard to the glass.
