REGINA RIBELLE 2024

Regina Ribelle successfully celebrated Vernaccia di San Gimignano on 18 and 19 May 2024. The festival dedicated to the renowned Tuscan white wine offered a unique experience with tastings, musical and artistic events and fun activities for all ages. The streets of San Gimignano came alive with tasting stalls, food and wine workshops and activities for children, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the culture and flavours of Tuscany.

One of the most eagerly awaited events of this edition was undoubtedly the DJ set realised in collaboration with the Controcultura association in the evocative Rocca di Montestaffoli. The evening was accompanied by street food from local businesses and Vernaccia di San Gimignano-based cocktails made by the “Gingegnere”.

Over 36 producer-members of the Consortium were present, and the most popular events included the free Masterclasses held in the Loggia of the Teatro dei Leggieri, which highlighted the versatility of Vernaccia di San Gimignano in combination with typical Tuscan products, thanks to the collaboration with the Consorzio del Prosciutto Toscano DOP, the Consorzio della Finocchiona IGP and Forme d’Arte.

A significant moment during the festival was the exam to qualify as “Tuscany’s Best Sommelier 2024”, organised by the Association of Italian Sommeliers (AIS) on 19 May. This prestigious competition witnessed the participation of sommeliers from all over the region, culminating in the announcement of the winner Ilaria Lorini, who demonstrated excellence and skill in the knowledge and service of wine.

Another element of particular success was the presence over the two days of the Wine Fest of Tuscan creators Wiki.Pedro and Simona Geri, who described San Gimignano and its great Appellation with their unique touch.

The two days leading up to the Wine Fest were reserved for the press. This gave journalists an opportunity to discover and taste the new vintages of Vernaccia di San Gimignano. The second edition of the Gala Dinner was also held on these dates, with this year’s menu being created by two San Gimignano restaurants, Linfa and San Martino 26.

Regina Ribelle was confirmed as an event not to be missed by wine enthusiasts and those wishing to discover the traditions and culture of Tuscany through one of its most emblematic products.

The event was organised by the Consorzio del Vino Vernaccia di San Gimignano and the Municipality of San Gimignano, with the support of numerous local partners and high-level sponsors.
