The two-day event brought the old town of San Gimignano to life and was attended by a large and interested public, who had the opportunity to taste a great Tuscan white wine: Vernaccia di San Gimignano, the only Queen of Tuscan white wine in a land of red kings. During a walk-around tasting, participants were able to discover all the nuances of this great wine thanks to the stories of the 35 winemakers – Guardians of Vernaccia di San Gimignano – present in the town squares with over 100 labels.
The Masterclasses organised at the Rocca di Montestaffoli were another great opportunity to further knowledge of the territory and the characteristics of the Appellation.
The opening conference, ‘L’Amor che de la vite cola’ (Love that flows from the vine), was held in the presence of city and regional authorities and the Italian trade press, with speakers of absolute prestige, who took turns talking about sustainability and the relationship between wine and health.
An unforgettable moment during this first edition was the Gala Dinner – with a menu prepared by Michelin-starred Chef Vito Mollica – attended by 130 guests, who gathered for the occasion in the evocative cloister of Sant’Agostino.
Lastly, the aperitif and after dinner event at the Rocca di Montestaffoli attracted the younger audience for a light and convivial tasting moment.
